The Method Behind

the Map

Hi, I'm Dana.

Travel has been part of my life since I was a kid, and it's never stopped being my favorite thing to plan for. I've been fortunate to visit over 15 countries, from hiking trails in Chile and Costa Rica to exploring temples in Japan and cafés in Italy — plus more than 35 U.S. states along the way. Somewhere in there, I became the friend everyone turns to when they're planning a trip. Coworkers, family, friends — if there's a vacation on the calendar, chances are I've had a hand in mapping it out.

My background is in auditing and risk management — which turns out to be surprisingly good training for building a great trip. I'm wired to plan carefully, think through what could go wrong before it does, and build in a realistic backup plan rather than hoping for the best. I bring that same instinct to every itinerary I build: checking that the timing actually works, that a day is full without being frantic, and that nothing has been left to chance that didn't need to be.

Outside of travel, I'm based in Indiana with my husband and two kids, and when I'm not planning mine or someone else's next trip, I'm probably out hiking or backpacking on one of my own. I started this business because I love this work — and I'd love to help you build a trip you'll actually enjoy living through, not just looking forward to.
